As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”  Romans 10:15

See the photographs below of our Lenten Art Project. We all carry burdens--regrets, fears, doubts, hungers and insecurities about our own limitations. We carry them like a bag of rocks slung over our shoulder, and they can weigh us down and keep us from living the life we want to live . . . the life God wants for us.

During Lent we at Webster Pres were invited to think about what we carry in our bag and to write a word or two on a black rock. Now our rocks sit side by side in the shape of a cross, bathed in water. Seeing the words others have written helps us know we are not alone in our struggle and reminds us to have compassion for others. The cross symbolizes Christ and the forgiveness of our sins. Water washes over our regrets, fears, doubts, hungers and insecurities. Water cleans, refreshes and brings new life.

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28)
