One Penny, One Person

Best-selling author Greg Mortensen’s journey began in Pakistan. After his failed attempt to climb K2, he was rescued and nursed back to health by Pakistani villagers. To show his gratitude for their compassion, he made a promise. He promised to return to Pakistan to build the villagers a much needed school. Nearly 100 schools later, the lessons we can all take away from his journey are two-fold. First, a single person does have the power to make a difference in the world. Secondly, the seeds of peace are better sewn through building cross cultural understanding and practicing tolerance.
